n Monday morning, the Clare County Central Dispatch received a report of a personal injury accident in Winterfield Township.
Deputies investigating the accident found that the vehicle had been traveling northbound on Cook Avenue when it ran off the road and hit a tree.
The driver of the pickup, 69-year-old, Lawrence Jackson of Marion, was pronounced dead on the scene.
39-year-old, Shirley Parsell of McBain, was transported from the scene by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cadillac for the treatment of her injuries, while 8-year-old, Ashton McLeod of McBain, was flown from the scene by helicopter to Devos Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment.
McLeod had been sitting in the middle seat of the pickup and was not wearing a seatbelt.
Both Parsell and McLeod remain in the hospital, meanwhile the accident remains under investigation.
